Skateboard
Skateboarding is like a happy ending fairy tale so we could even start talking about it with the tone that it deserves. Once upon a time in the early 50s there were Californian surfers that wanted to ride when waves were flat so they sat and thought about it. Their brainstorming lead them to cut a roller skate in two and nail it to a wooden plank in order to create the first moves of what will be later on called sidewalk surfing. After decades of polishing the designs and the choice of materials of its hardware, we are finally able to ride skateboards of the utmost level: the same ones that professionals use.

Skateboarding is like a happy ending fairy tale so we could even start talking about it with the tone that it deserves. Once upon a time in the early 50s there were Californian surfers that wanted to ride when waves were flat so they sat and thought about it. Their brainstorming lead them to cut a roller skate in two and nail it to a wooden plank in order to create the first moves of what will be later on called
sidewalk surfing. After decades of polishing the designs and the choice of materials of its hardware, we are finally able to ride skateboards of the utmost level: the same ones that professionals use.A skate is composed by seven plies of
Canadian Maple with the sense of their veneers crossed to give it strength and flexibility. The fact that nowadays decks have a long nose (front) and a slightly shorter tail (back) made possible an
endless evolution of tricks that is in continual motion. You can rely on this or that brand because of the concave, of the flexibility of the board or of its shape but once a board is professional you are up to a good start. We carry boards by
Girl,
Chocolate, Real,
FTC,
Poler e
Magenta among others.A board needs trucks and here the main features are
lightness and
strength. There are a handful of
pro trucks out there but we focused on the best: Independent. Is it a chance that it's the only truck that ever collaborated on a limited edition with Supreme? There are two wheels mounted on a
truck and each of them carries two bearings inside. It goes without saying that
bearings are the engine of your skateboard. Cheap ones are noisy and slow while to have a proper performance you'd better stick with fast onest. Our choice in this sense is
Bronson Speed Co. ed
Independent.Wheels are as important as your bearings because on them
depend traction and
slideability of your skate. Small wheels are more reactive because they keep your board closer to the ground. Bigger wheels are faster but sets you a little far from he ground. Our favorite wheels are
Spitfire.Once you figured these things out don't forget to put a sheet of griptape on your deck and to attach trucks with eight nuts. Now you are ready to roll.
